FMEA Investigator - includes design and process FMEAs following AIAG and QS-9000 guidelines
Web-Based • Network/LAN • CD-ROM
FMEA Investigator is a computer-based training program that walks learners through all of the steps to conduct both process and design FMEAs. In addition to detailed instruction following AIAG guidelines for FMEAs, FMEA Investigator also includes real life examples. Follow two companies through a step-by-step analysis and see how they used FMEAs to improve their product design and manufacturing processes.
Course Objectives
Learners will be able to:
1. Describe the purpose of an FMEA and explain the benefits of using FMEAs in both design and process engineering situations.
2. Explain the ten steps to conducting an FMEA.
3. Contribute effectively to an FMEA team.
4. Customize FMEA rating scales.
Intended Audience
Engineers, supervisors, managers, quality professionals. Anyone who will be serving as a member or leader of an FMEA team.
Time To Complete
5 to 8 hours
Course Outline
FMEA Investigator is divided into three units: FMEA Overview, Design FMEAs, and Process FMEAs.
Why Does My Company Need This Program?
Training is essential to assuring team members have a common understanding of how the FMEA process works, but its difficult finding the time to get everyone on the team together. With the FMEA Investigator each individual receives one-to-one computer-based instruction, with graphics and sound, at their own convenience. The hassle of having to schedule classroom training sessions is eliminated.
If you already provide FMEA training
Companies that use FMEA Investigator find that it is an excellent alternative to outside seminars that can be costly and poorly timed. Instead of having to take several people away from their job for several hours or sometimes even days, with FMEA Investigator you can train people when it is most convenient.
Companies using FMEA Investigator find that training time is cut in half over the time it takes to teach the same information in a seminar setting. That's because learners control the speed of the training and can proceed at their pace, not that of the instructor. FMEA Investigator assures that each employee receives the same, technically correct message. You don't have to worry that your training will be inconsistent as sometimes happens with classroom and on-the-job training.
If you don't already provide FMEA training
Without training, your employees may be struggling through FMEA projects and not getting the most out of the time and effort they are investing in them. With the FMEA Investigator you can teach people the FMEA process just before they work on their first FMEA team. That means that when they go to their first team meeting they will understand the language, the process, and be able to contribute to the teams efforts.
